End of a Perfect Day
The end of the week here at DWT on the Clarkson campus and a great day of data. Maximum wind speed observed was a little over 15 m/s (34 mph) and the turbine performed very well with a maximum output limited to 3543 W. Tracking was great and no structural vibration or resonance issues were observed. A video clip with the sun setting is a nice way to head into the weekend!
Brrrrr........
Snow has settled onto the campus, but the Gen 1 unit is ready to produce! Bring on the wind!
Rotor is On!
A successful installation of the new 3 meter rotor on the Gen 1 at Clarkson University capped off a stellar fall day in Potsdam, NY! The turbine was lowered, the old rotor changed out and the new blades built into the rotor and installed without too many hitches at all. Thanks to all the crew and students for helping out in a very professional manner! Note that Mark Hebel, the shop tech extraordinaire here at Clarkson, is featured getting his hands dirty in every shot!
